For thousands of years, the misty cauldron of Chengdu has been famous for its friendly people, beautiful clothing, breathtaking scenery, and lingering culture that leaves a strong impression on the visitor. Hidden among the bamboo groves of Sichuan province lie rare animals, including the adorable Giant Panda. Amazing architecture and timeless experiences also await. Tour an ancient Taoist temple still producing copies of classics via antique methods, then venture off into the jungle to view the Giant Panda up close – you can even hold one! Dine on spicy Sichuanese cuisine before taking in a rousing rendition of fire- breathing Sichuanese opera. End your tour at a teahouse enjoying life the relaxing Sichuan way.
Day 1: Chengdu

Begin your tour with a private Tai Chi lesson after breakfast. Chengdu has been a cultural center full of colorful and distinct traditions since the infancy of the Chinese empire, and you’ll have some time to explore and soak in the atmosphere of the mountain city. In the afternoon, you’ll take in the mystery of the Taoist Qingyang Temple, where among the storied gates and pavilions an antique printing press still makes Taoist canons using thousands of hand carved wood blocks. Dinner will be a banquet of the famous Sichuan cuisine.
Day 2: Chengdu

Watch the jungles of Southwest China pass by on a scenic drive through spacious groves of bamboo shadowed by misty mountain peaks towards the Giant Panda Breeding Center outside of town. You’ll have the opportunity to see the adorable bears up close, as well as the incredible chance to hold some an adorable panda cub. In the afternoon, attend the famous Sichuan Culinary School to learn techniques to prepare the notoriously spicy Sichuan cuisine. In the evening, watch a thrilling Sichuan Opera, complete with the incredibly face changing show.
Day 3: Chengdu

Visit the Sanxingdui Museum outside of the city, where the distinctive earth-mound shape of the museum houses some of the most astounding examples of Chinese heritage, including mystical bronze masks used in ancient ceremonies. Have a feast of local snacks, traditional foods that form an important part of Chinese cuisine. End your tour with a relaxing visit to a local teahouse, frequented by Chengdu locals watching the days go by with games, songs, and general merriment.
