In addition to such perfect sight, Mergui also offers numbers of huge boulders, caverns, tunnels and drop-offs. For all the exploratory divers out there, this is the place you cannot miss.
Day 1: Yangon
Let your journey begin at the Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar. Upon you arrival, you will be warmly greeted by the local guide and transferred to your hotel to freshen up. In the afternoon you will visit the renowed Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame, one of the most sacred places in Myanmar. After that you can explore this magnificent city for the evening before going back to the hotel
Day 2: Yangon – Kawthaung
After breakfast, you will take a flight to Kawthaung, formerly called Victoria Point, southern most part of Myanmar. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the cruise director and crew before boarding the cruise to one of Asia’s top dive site, Mergui Archipelago. Enjoy the welcome cocktail and a beautiful night on board.
Day 3: Mergui Archipelago: High Rock, Rocky Island & Nga Man Island
Wake up to the sound of the sea. Today, before breakfast, you will kick start this diving trip with a dive at High Rock where seahorses, soft coral and cup coral are commonly found. Then, you will dive again at Steward Island, a site well-known for its caves and strong currents. Breakfast will be served on board, so you can choose to have breakfast before or after this second dive. In the afternoon, you will explore Rocky Island, a small island with approx. 60m width, home to numbers of painted spiny lobsters and some nurse sharks. Your diving trip today will end at a night dive at Nga Man Island, a relaxing beach before going back on board for a good night rest.
Day 4: Mergui Archipelago: Black Rock & Twin Island
Today, you will do 3 dives at Black Rock, another one of Myanmar’s most famous dive sites. You will be fascinated by variety of reef life and large numbers of pelagics such as Blacktips, Silvertips, Grey Reef Sharks, Bull Sharks, Eagle & Manta rays. If it is your lucky day, you might see up to 5 different species of sharks today. Today’s trip will end with a night dive at Twin Island before you go back to another good night sleep on board.
Day 5: Mergui Archipelago: Twins Islands & Macleod Island
Kick start you day with an early dive at North Twin Island before breakfast. Then, you will continue to dive at South Twin Island where you will see magnificent rock formations with swim through. By diving at the Twins islands, you will get a chance to see Manta ray, various shark species, Rainbow Runers, Frogfish, Herlequin Shrimp and other small marine life. You will take the afternoon dive at Steward Island, famous for its caves and strong current. Your last dive of the day will end at High Rock, then cruise to Macleod Island while spending the night on board.
Day 6: Mergui Archipelago: Macleod Island & Western Rocky Pinnacle
This morning will do 3 dives and one sightseeing at Macleod Island. The island is one of the “unspoiled” islands in Mergui Archipelago, perfect place for diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, fishing as well as land activities including jungle safari, short trekking and birds watching. In the afternoon, you will continue diving at Western Rocky Pinnacle, where the magnificent forest of enormous gorgonian sea fans will amaze you.
Day 7: Mergui Archipelago: Western Rocky – Kawthaung
This morning, before breakfast, you will do the last fun dive at Western Rocky, Mergui Archipelago’s southernmost dive sites. You will get a chance to dive though the tunnel that runs all the way through the middle of the island, dive site that you just cannot miss. After this fun dive, you will sail back to Kawthaung where you will spend the night at the hotel before flying back to Yangon the next day. You can spend your evening at leisure today.
Day 8: Kawthaung – Yangon
After breakfast, you can take a short walk around down Kawthaung’s waterfront to visit teashops and stores in the area, before leaving to for flight to Yangon. Upon arrival in Yangon, you will be transferred to your hotel to drop off your luggage. Afterwards, you will get a chance to see Karaweik, land mark of Yangon gilded with gold, located in Kandawgyi Lake. Afterwards, you will visit Aung San Market (Scott Market) for sightseeing and souvenir shopping.
Day 9: Depart Yangon
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Yangon International Airport.
